If clients are going to produce their own work, they should: 
-use tools at their disposal (mobile phone, computer at home, etc)
-not feel intimidated with the prospect of having to learn a new technological skill
As a production mentor, you are merely guiding the process and assisting the client with constructing their best possible narrative.
Additionally, you want to make sure the production ‘playing field’ is evened out as far as possible. Clients need to know what they are getting themselves into should they want to put narratives online.
